I always thought that it would be cool if shepard could have the 'ungroomed' look about him.. for when things get particularly stressful and you just dont have the time to shave your face and head. xD
So here is Mass Effect 3 John Shepard on one of those 'car gets stolen, your dog runs away and Giant sentient machines are blowing up your home planet' days when you just dont have time to look your best.
