A doodle I made to practice Darth Maul's body scribbles. I haven't draw him really in years, nor really given him any thought, but some recent shit reminded me that I really love this character. He's my hero. So I'm going to start working on my Star Wars fiction again and drawing him more, and I'm going to try and get out of my drawing rut.
I draw really boring shit. Tired of it. Time to branch out and get out of my comfort zone. Maul is my Muse.
There might be some girly goo too, but I'd like to think I'm old enough now where I can write Maul without RUINING him. We'll see.
I was checking out your lines, the sketchy details if you will. I am a big supporter of those things, but I have a lot of trouble drawing directly to screen. It's not as much the coordination... I have no problem with it... but i get... hmm not sure how to describe it. Discouraged perhaps?
I like the feedback I receive from the pen to paper... and the quick sliding around on a tablet... it's just not the same. So, since I saw what appeared to be a digital drawing with the same lines I loved so much I was thinking there may be hope for me one day after all xD
TL;DR: He looks kick ass.

There totally is, you should see my first tablet drawings. Been practicing for years trying to make it all clean and then just gave up. I'm a sloppy person when I draw, lines all over the place. My pencil stuff looks identical LOL. Just let it flow in my opinion, scribble fast stuff on it until you get a real feel for being loose. I used to get all worked up like drawing on the computer made it 'offical' or something, but really it just makes it easier to erase and change stuff. In time you will learn that Lasso+transform will become your bestest friend (for photoshop at least).
And thank you btw, for the question and the compliment. No one really asks questions and I love answering them so very much. *__*
So far my friend seems to think I am doing a good job. Involves romantic-ish involvement with Maul though, so that in itself is going to be pretty hard.
I shee what you mean... I guess it's just one of those things you have to work at... years and years is sure discouraging but it's like a rite of passage... so many great artists... one day I'll make something good :3
No problem for questions, when I add people to my watch I really try and comment and question as much as I can! I feel that there is much education to be had in talking to artists on DA. I mean, why should we live in a bubble when their are so many great people and great communication tools at our fingertips

When did it suddenly become cool to hate everything? It's a growing problem, especially in the entertainment world, and no one benefits from an increasingly hard to please, pessimistic audience.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
