HOPEFULLY this little rant doesn't count as an indiscretion against some DA rule that I've long forgotten trying to censor my opinions- [link] . Needless to say I feel somewhat violated, and that's my right, but since this site is doing me a service by allowing me to upload my artwork here, I'm going to respect their decision to censor it as they see fit, but not without expressing my views on the reasoning behind it.

So, one of my 'images' got marked for mature content today and the tag was placed on it- without my consent. I know most people are gonna piss and moan 'well it showed nipples so its mature blah blah'. In truth- it was an oekaki type image and there were black scribbles where nipples should be, underneath a fishnet type shirt.. SO MATURE, I mean after all a nipple is like- what? ALMOST a vagina hanging out there for the entire world to see? Right?

Wrong.

I wouldn't even have an issue with it if it wasn't so ridiculously ignorant. There's nothing THERE to censor- what the hell is wrong with the world. That and its NIPPLES- No not even nipples- Black spots where nipples SHOULD be. Everyone has nipples- some people even have three, so what the hell is the problem? You might as well censor the friggen Quaker oatmeal man- because I find him far more offensive and inappropriate than nipples could ever hope to be.

And whats all this censorship crap on the internet all about anyway? Children aren't stupid, you can't protect them from pornography because they WILL find it on their own, they're curious about sex. If you give a child the internet you're giving them Pornography, whether you like it or not- so get over it. Why not nurture their curiosity? Maybe even try to guide it in a healthier direction rather than shunning it and driving them to look down more dangerous avenues? The only true way to protect children is to provide them with knowledge about whats right and whats wrong.

Half of the reason there are perverts and rapists and serial rapists is because they are sexually repressed as children, but they're still sexual creatures- PEOPLE are SEXUAL creatures, and when that sexual desire, curiosity or urge becomes taboo or discouraged it becomes an unhealthy obsession and even an ILLNESS in some cases. So in a way censorship is actually encouraging the very thing its trying to prevent. Nom on that for awhile.

Also, I've chosen this little mood icon for a specific reason as well. Deviant art has provided me with a way to show people how I feel via tiny little GIF stabbing someone in the face with a fork. Yes, I'm glad just about anyone can see that without being 'of age' but they cant view a picture with blackened dot-nipples. Bravo. If I were wearing a hat- it'd go off to you.
